Alternate World

This is my Alternate World Project.  I was inspired by the look of the 1950's, and thought to blend it with the technology of today would make for an interesting scene.  I added a picture of my car, because I am proud to own it and it also new, making it a new technology.  I added a picture of Miley Cyrus carrying an iPad because it shows the change in the times.  I added banners for Apple and Starbucks, because I just recently got my iPhone and I am in love with it.  I also really enjoy Starbucks. I also added a billboard of Sephora because I love the way they set up their store so that you literally cant miss a thing.  I also added a sattelite in the sky because we wouldn't be the world we are today without them, and they are essential to every day life.  I chose to add all of these things to the picture as well because they were all invented after the 1950's.  I am proud of the way I edited the banners and billboards and I really like how it is all black and white.  I could improve on my shadows and i probably could have found a better background in a normal color and just made that image black and white instead of searching for a black and white image already. But overall, I am really happy with how the whole project came out.

Hybrid Animal

This is my hybrid animal, a zebraffe.  It lives in a tropical climate and enjoys a semi-arid atmosphere.  It loves to nibble on tree leaves but enjoys some down time in the shade and sand. It has a stallion boddess and uses its long neck to be able to search out predators high and low. It has quick speed and is always aware of its surroundings. I chose these two animals because i like giraffes, and they are pretty tall, kinda like me.  I chose a zebra because they are all different and no one is alike. I think overall this came out successful and looks very realistic in the background.

Kaleidoscope - Waterfall

This is my waterfall kaleidoscope.  I really like how it came out and how it makes the appearance of all the waterfalls coming together. The symmetry is pretty good and the balance of colors works well.  The lines across the top left corner to the bottom right are signs that one selection was not completely straight.

Kaleidoscope- Beach

This is my beach kaleidoscope.  I think it is pretty symmetric and has good balance.  I also like the colors with the light blue of the ocean and all the different colors of the sand.

Kaleidoscope - Owl

This is the owl image that i chose to use.  It is completely symmetrical and  I think it has really good balance.  I like how the grays, browns, and oranges all blend together, but stand out at the same time. I did not think this image would turn out how it did when i started out but i am excited how it now looks.

Kaleidoscope Images

These are my three kaleidoscope images. I did the beach one using the directions, and the waterfall one similarly following the directions but i didn't use a new part of the picture for the additional kaleidoscope. Lastly, the owl kaleidoscope i similarly followed the directions but did not add the extra step because i really liked how all the eyes look.  I thought that overall, this was a very successful project after the first image was complete. You had to work through some things and figure them out until you got it done the right way. I really liked finding simple pictures and turning them into complex images.
